The application for the 2026-2027 school year is open. Application priority deadline is February 13th, 2026. Apply early to ensure MCC class availability. **Students that only want to enroll in the Spring 2027 semester will need to wait to apply. The spring semester application will open in early October 2026.
ENROLLMENT STEPS
Speak with your high school counselor to determine if the Early College Program is a good fit for you.
Step 1-MCC Application: Click the link to complete the free, online Metropolitan Community College application at https://mcckc.edu/apply-now/ . Students planning to transfer to a 4-year institution should select the Associate of Arts Degree option (AA)
- Complete the application as a current high school student and include the high school you attend. The MCC home campus is Longview. High school students are not eligible to complete the FAFSA. ***NOTE: the student's social security number is required for students to be able to reset their password (recommended).
- After the student completes the MCC application, they will receive an email asking the student to confirm their application. The email will be sent to the email address entered in the MCC application. Students must follow the steps in that email to confirm their application. A second email will be sent after the application has been confirmed that will include the MCC ID#.
Step 2- ECP Application: Click the link to complete and submit the LSR7 Early College Program application (Students can complete this application once they have completed the MCC application.)
Step 3- Course Enrollment Requirements: 11th and 12th grade students with an unweighted GPA of 2.5 and above are eligible for the program. The GPA is cumulative and based on completion of 4 or more high school semesters. See additional requirements below.
- Unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher: Students are not required to have placement test scores and are allowed to enroll in non-math based classes. Students with an unweighted GPA of 3.3 or higher and have successfully completed Algebra II (grade of C or higher) are allowed to enroll in MATH 120-College Algebra and MATH 115-Statistics without placement test scores.
- Unweighted GPA of 2.5-2.9: Students will need to complete the ACT or Accuplacer Test and meet MCC's placement score requirements to enroll in classes. Test details can be found below. Click on the links for more information. Please complete placement testing by March 25, 2026.
Placement Testing: If placement testing is required, students will need to submit a copy of their scores to the ECP Coordinator before enrolling in courses. See required scores below.
ACT Information: Required Scores- ENGL - 18; READ -18; MATH - 22 (required for math, economics, and chemistry classes).
The ACT is a standardized test used for college admission. Click here for registration information and test dates.
Accuplacer Information: Required Scores- place into ENGL 101, Read 100 or above and MATH 120 (required for math, economics, and chemistry classes).
- The ACCUPLACER is free and available on a walk-in bases at MCC-Longview. Testing Center hours can be found on the MCC website or call 816-604-2434. Please note, you must have a MCC ID number (received after you apply) and a picture ID to test. Visit the ACCUPLACER website for recommended test preparation resources.
Step 4:
Meet with Erin Barnett, ECP Coordinator, during high school Enrollment Conferences to discuss MCC class registration.

Make tuition payment arrangements. The first payment
Fall Semester : August 1st.
