Placement Testing

Students can meet the placement testing requirements by taking the Accuplacer or the ACT. Required placement scores must be received before students can enroll in classes at Metropolitan Community College (MCC).

***The Accuplacer is typically offered at each LSR7 high school during the spring semester. Check with the high school Counseling Center for information.

Students must Test into: ENGL 101, Read Recommended or No Reading Required, & MATH 120 or higher (only required for student interested in taking a math class, ECON 210 & ECON 211, or CHEM 111)

ACT Information:

The ACT is a standardized test used for college admission. LSR7 currently provides Juniors and Seniors a voucher that covers the cost of 1 test each year on the national test dates. Otherwise, there is a fee associated with this test and the test is only offered on national test dates.

Students need the following scores to meet MCC placement requirements:

ACT English:  18 or higher

ACT Reading:  18 or higher

ACT Math: 22 (College Algebra, Statistics) or 26 (Trigonometry, Precalculus, Analytic Geometry & Calculus I)

* only required for student interested in taking a math class, ECON 210 & ECON 211, or CHEM 111
